Fables: Legends in Exile is a 5-chapter graphic novel set in a fictional land called New York City, showcasing a fairytale crew involved in their very own Fabletown murder mystery. The frames were detailed and the quick-paced set changes…

An interesting look at Fable characters who have been exiled from their Homeland by an evil Advosary. A cautionary tale about not helping one's neighbours in their hour of need. Exiled to New York City, Snow White as the Mayor's…

This is one of my favorite graphic novel series. The characters are well written and flawed. In traditional fairy tales readers know who the good and bad guys are. In Fables, it isn't always so clear. Bill Willingham crafts an excellent…

In the popular show "The Big Bang Theory" a recurring character named Stuart offers this description of Fables #1 to the female protagonists who are in search of a good comic to read; " If I were you, I'd go for Fables number one. The…

Fables is like a darker more adult version of Once Upon A Time. I am loving it so far. The other interesting thing is if you love Fables go ahead and look up "The Wolf Among Us" on your app store. You will be in for a treat!

I originally started reading this because Telltale made a Game series about it. (The Wolf Among Us) It's good so far, and I'm enjoying it.

A fun, modern detective story uniquely cast with characters from all of your favorite fairy tales. While the main plot of the first novel did not strongly capture my interest, the characters and how they interacted with each other and…

Interesting takes on some classic fable characters and decent art somehow combine to a "less than the sum its parts" experience. I may check out the next volume as I've heard the story improves...

Fables is a great series up to Book ten. i would recommend against reading past that. Book ten is clearly the conclusion of the story. The series is amazing and improves with every book. In book one, they are still finding their legs. But…

This has never been my all-time favourite comic series but it definitely deserves a read.

I really liked the letter at the beginning and the story telling at the end, but was unimpressed by the content of the comic. I think I'll try out the next in the series, hoping for a little more complex plot line.

Fantasy creature live in the modern world as a result of some conflict with something called the Adversary. Now they live together, outcasts from their own worlds and lands and do their best to get by. There's a government of sorts, there…

Wonderfully creative look at how the "Fables" of yesteryear are living in the modern world. Beautifully illustrated with a very well crafted story. I'm really looking forward to reading the rest of the series.

Gah, I loved this book! It was soo awesome! I love the twists put onto the character stories, and the modernization of it all. I especially love the chemistry (or lack thereof) between Snow and Bigby. ;) The one complaint was that I…

I love this whole series. Bill Willingham, the writer, is a very very clever man. It's a lame premise, (which I remember every time I try to explain it to people), but its so well written you forget that pretty quick. It's also beautifully…

Willingham's first installment of Fables is a fun detective read as we follow Wolf on the trail of Red's killer. Snow's character steals the show - so strong and responsible. This wasn't my favorite TPB, but it was good enough I'll…

This comic was a brilliant read! The murder, the lies, the suspense, and the alteration of our favorite childhood fairytales twisted into 119 pages of comics. The graphics had the classic comics drawing. Each characters had their own…

Very creative re-imagining of fairytale characters in NYC living no-so-happily-ever-after lives (and way more interesting and darker than the tv series "Once Upon a Time"). That's most of the fun. The actual mystery plot is very mundane.
