Great book to read. Can't stop reading till I finish the whole book.

The Hunger Games exemplifies the battle against injustice. Katniss Everdeen is an emblem of hope in the suffering eyes of a dystopian society. I felt like I really understood this heroine, as her thoughts and feelings were were expressed so clearly and powerfully. It’s impossible not to become emotionally attached to certain characters. This book broke my heart several times, and frustrated me with the unfairness of the fictional government. I would definitely reread this harrowing tale.

A very emotional story by Suzanne Collins. I first heard of the Hunger Games from the films, so I decided to give the books a try. That was a great decision because I absolutely loved it. On a scale of 1-5, I would rate this book as a 5. What I liked about the book is the main character Katniss Everdeen, she is a sensitive character that makes readers remorse for her that makes the story even better. Also liked the setting because its an original dystopia, creative and has a unique plot that shows that the writer had put a lot of thought into it. It's a very interesting story If you have watched the movies and didn’t really think to read the books, I totally recommend doing so. If you are a person that likes a story with romance, motivational characters and action filled. 5 stars

Written by Suzanna Collins, The Hunger Games has remained a classic to the teen dystopian genre of fiction for good reason. The story is very descriptive and really immersing you in the world of Panem, and the dark game of survival done by the Capital. Katniss Everdeen is written to be the exact character the reader sees themselves as, and can't help but root for. Hard-working, caring, and determined, are the characteristics that make Katniss a great protagonist. After re-reading the novel, I had second thoughts on my opinions of Gale and Peeta. I found Gale to be a much more likable character, having always been there to support Katniss while Peeta to be rather annoying and clingy. The Hunger Games is definitely a novel that I will never get tired of reading. 4.5 Stars.

Before all of the movies came out and became an all-time favourite worldwide, the highly-detailed, descriptive graphics, and thrilling “The Hunger Games” novel was the only format such storyline came in. I believe that Suzanne Collins has a skill in expressing content through all-inclusive details as it was incredibly easy to match what I visualized the setting and characters to be like to the corresponding scenes, and actors in the movie. Suzanne Collins explored the troubled minds of the 24 tributes entering the Hunger Games as the discrete yet alarming character development continued to show exactly how far each tribute, including the main characters Katniss and Peeta, is willing to go in order to survive the annual event. The constantly thickening storyline, the countless twists and turns, and the subplots alone are enough to send chills up your spine. Overall, I don’t expect the attention directed at “The Hunger Games” series by Suzanne Collins to fade away anytime soon, and I’d absolutely recommend this book to any mature reader who is interested in a suspenseful read. Rating: 4.5/5

This is a dystopian novel that somehow predicted the future, In a way that people would do such cruel things in exchange for wealth and fame. This book would be definitely loved by people who likes science fiction and adventure. This book could have been better if there was a history of how Katniss’s father died and a little background with her memories with her beloved father. Overall, I must say that I prefer this version of the story rather the one in the movie because it’s more detailed. I love this book because it is an eye opener for me for my love for books. I also love how the author showed how loving can save you but as well as how it can put you in danger.

The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins can immediately be recognized by one of the most
iconic books to surface in the last decade, and it is my hope that it will go down in history and be read by the children of the next generation. The plot of this book, while quite dark, is very interesting and can be related to the society we live in today, making readers ask important and thought-provoking questions about today’s social climate and where our society may be heading. The characters are well-written, each having their own distinct personality that clashes with the others in the most perfect way. There’s definitely a character for every type of reader, prompting them to turn the page. The parts of the book leading up to the climax is perfect, making sure while the reader has some idea of what’s going on, the climax is still unexpected. The ending wraps up the book well, making sure the reader feels satisfied yet is eager to read the next addition to the series.

Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark are two good friends who participate in an annual challenge called the Hunger Games. The rules of the game are 1 person has to remain alive while the others are dead. You pretty much have to kill one another and try to be the last one standing. In this book, it will be hard to try to work together and build friendships because anyone can easily turn on your back and kill you. It is very competitive and there are 12 participants in this game, 1 from each of the 12 districts. There can only be one champion, even if there are 2 or more participants form the same district.

The Hunger Games is a fan favourite amongst many YA dystopian novels. The story follows 16 year-old Katniss, who volunteers to take her sister's place in the Hunger Games, a twisted game that controls the Districts. The premise of the book follows other media with similar settings and rules, such as Battle Royale. Nonetheless, the plot is compelling and the story is driven along by many little events that all escalate into a well thought out grand finale. The characters are a bit lacking, but interesting to read about, seeing the different personalities between the main and supporting characters as well as the main antagonist. Overall, the Hunger Games is an entertaining read and has an interesting premise, as well as a sequel which is also worth checking out.

The Hunger Games is one of the most popular and influential science fiction novels of the modern day. The Hunger Games is the thrilling tale of a young woman named Katniss Everdeen who participates in a game to the death, where teenagers are pulled from 12 districts in a post-apocalyptic nation to bring honour to their district and win.
This Hunger Games novel is home to an original setting with a unique and dark plot that not just anyone would even think of. The author, Suzanne Collins, created a twisted, dystopian, science fiction universe full of death, inequality, and betrayal, and it is nothing but absolutely thrilling. The way that Katniss, a bright and intelligent heroine, navigates her way through the system of this world to rise on top is thrilling as she uses her physical and mental abilities to her advantage over and over again. I loved this because Katniss is such an empowering female character who consistently stands for what she believes in and fights for justice and equality, which is both inspiring and exhilarating. She gives into nothing and no one which adds to the thrill of the novel which carries out all the way through.
It is a thrilling but ultimately gruesome story that is aimed at teenage and mature young adult audiences. The story itself when I read it was unpredictable and always left you guessing just what the society had in store for the participants of the Hunger games, as each challenge was more exciting and complex than the last. I enjoy progressive thrill within a novel and the Hunger games provided just that.

I liked reading “The Hunger Games” but I didn’t love it. This book was amazingly written, has an inspiring heroine and overall deserves recognition, despite any flaws. Katniss Everdeen's sister has been chosen to compete in the annual hunger games but Katniss volunteers herself to protect her sister. The character development of Katniss Everdeen is brilliant. She’s a fierce, independent woman and the scenes develop her character really well. However, I think the hunger games event held every year is absolutely disgusting, unnecessary and brutal. I didn’t enjoy the battles, romance, or danger. Unfortunately, this book is based on it and there’s nothing I can do about that. The setting was a good choice for this book and the anti-violent message was clear. I would recommend reading “The Hunger Games” for ages 12+. 4/5 stars.

Audiobook would not load. It had a wrong extension.

I really enjoyed listening to this book on my commute to and from work. The narrator (Carolyn McCormick) was successful in verbally representing and distinguishing all of the characters.

This is an amazing, well-written story. Characterization, world building and pacing is perfect. Highly recommend for anyone who is into dystopic fiction.

The Hunger games original book, was the book that started it all for me in terms of being a huge fan of both the movie series and book series. This book written by Suzanne Collins was written amazingly. The story focused on the districts and the injustice they faced from the powerful Capitol. It had the brilliant idea of showing that all twelve districts would have to send 2 adolescents aged between 12-18 one girl and one boy, it was truly amazing discovering that these tributes would have to fight for their lives during the Games. The story focused on Katniss Everdeen a brave girl from district 12. She was portrayed as a strong character that would do anything to protect her family. It showed how she resented the Capitol for what they did to the districts. Her character is my personal favorite in the franchise. This is due to her being the main character and looking at the book from her conflicted point of view. We get to see her teaming up with fellow district 12 tribute Peeta Mellark. They make a great team initially but we are lead to believe that the two character's will betray one another some time during the games. This is the first book in the trilogy. The book portrays the difficulties of having to provide for your family, for living in a dictatorship government, as well as the struggles in having to kill someone you have known for a long time. If you are interested in fantasy books that leave you wanting to read every single word, than this is the book for you. Suzanne Collins, the author of this book does a wonderful job showing the personality and characteristics of each major character such as Gale, Haymitch, Effie, etc. As someone who has read this book and it's second and third books I recommend you to read all three books in this series. because once you read the first book, you wont be able to wait until you can read the second and last book in this series.
