“Pan, who and what art thou?" he cried huskily.
"I'm youth, I'm joy," Peter answered at a venture, "I'm a little bird that has broken out of the egg.”

“For long the two enemies looked at one another, Hook shuddering slightly, and Peter with the strange smile upon his face.
"So, Pan," said Hook at last, "this is all your doing."
"Ay, James Hook," came the stern answer, "it is all my doing."
"Proud and insolent youth," said Hook, "prepare to meet thy doom."
"Dark and sinister man,“For long the two enemies looked at one another, Hook shuddering slightly, and Peter with the strange smile upon his face.
"Dark and sinister man," Peter answered, "have at thee.”

“If you shut your eyes and are a lucky one, you may see at times a shapeless pool of lovely pale colours suspended in the darkness; then if you squeeze your eyes tighter, the pool begins to take shape, and the colours become so vivid that with another squeeze they must go on fire.”

“Can anything harm us, mother, after the night-lights are lit?"
Nothing, precious," she said; "they are the eyes a mother leaves behind her to guard her children.”

What a childhood classic! Rewatching this made me relive the wild imagination that I had when I was younger. It is a fantasy movie with an amazing song track (I definitely recommend everyone to listen to it if they have not already!). My favourite part of this movie is always the ending when the evil Captain Hook gets what has deserved throughout the whole movie. This is a definite movie night favourite that I am sure all families will enjoy. The parents can relive the crazy imagination the movie brings while the children may experience it for the first time. This is a definite 4 out of 5 from me!

Peter Pan is practically a mirror image of my childhood imagination; there are pirates, fairies, mermaids, and even magical pixie dust! The animated film is set in a place called ‘Neverland’ (where children stay young), and essentially starts off with children who never want to grow up. Speaking from my own experiences, this film definitely widens the imagination of a child! When I was growing up, watching Peter Pan brought me so much joy and happiness; even to this day, Peter Pan gives me a heartwarming - yet emotional - response, as well as memories of what it was like to be a child filled with wonder. This is a heartfelt and memorable film full of nostalgia, and I absolutely recommend it to all ages, especially to those who want to relive their childhood! Rating: 5/5

Though the film has its issues when viewed through a modern lens, it's still one of Disney's best.

Yeah-Yeah-Yeah. Even though I'm now considered to be a full-fledged adult, I'm glad to say that I still have enough "child-at-heart" left in me to enjoy this vintage, Disney animated feature film from 1953. And, maybe, if you (as an adult) watch it too, you will feel the same way as I do.

Featuring lots of excellent pre-CGI animation sequences and a number of likable characters (except, of course, for the nasty Captain Hook) - "Peter Pan" is an entertaining fantasy trip to NeverNeverLand where adventure and excitement are all in day's play.

Hello, darlings! - Peter Pan is such a sweetie - Don't you think? And, this movie is a real treat, too.

"We can fly! We can fly! We can fly! Wheeeee!"

Pixies? Fairies?.... You know, I'd gladly choose this delightfully charming slice of make-believe (and all of its genuine wonder) over Spielberg's plodding, crappy, old Hook, any day.

Without a doubt, Peter Pan has certainly earned itself an extra-special place in the magical realm of classic animated Disney films. Regardless of one's age, this captivating film actually has the power to instill an element of wonder, hope, and joy into all who view it.

This 1953 screen-version of James M. Barrie's superb story about childhood dreams and fantasies is both comical and colourfully told, and, thankfully, kept on the straight and narrow when it comes to the book's storyline. Barrie's wondrous focus on eternal child's play is the key to this tale's overwhelming charm and enduring longevity.

Just imagine - Kids who don't grow up - Shadows that run away from their owners - Pirates - Fairies - And the amazing ability to fly!.... Wow! One can't help but wish, and hope, and dream that this tremendous adventure to Never-Neverland, with all of its hypnotic enchantment, would somehow happen to them.

While this 1953 Disney release doesn't quite qualify as one of the studio's animated classics, it is nonetheless a wonderfully entertaining version of James M. Barrie's children's play about Never-Neverland, and the three Darling children taken there by Peter Pan and his fairy companion, Tinkerbell.

Captain Hook is so nasty that you can't help but love him for being that way. And, of course, Peter Pan torments him to no end.... And, yes, it's all great fun.

SAPPHIREBEAR15 Jun 11, 2012

In the early 20th century, Peter Pan (Jeremy Sumpter) visits London and becomes enthralled by the stories that Wendy Darling (Rachel Hurd-Wood) tells to her brothers. Wendy asks to visit Never Land and Peter invites her to be the "mother" to his gang of Lost Boys (most of whom are English accented). Before leaving, she asks to bring her brothers John (Harry Newell) and Michael (Freddie Popplewell), and Peter teaches them all to fly with him.
