I just bet that ike loved this film.
VERY GOOD 1957 western movie with terrific acting, cinematography, music and more. Fun to watch this 50's flavor of cowboy movie.
CLASSIC WESTERN WITH EXCELLENT CAST. THREE PAWS UP FROM ABBY TABBY & KRISTI
Burt Lancaster and Kirk Douglas take Dodge City by storm. The two almost enjoy cleaning up the town and I enjoyed watching them in action. A great western on a true story of the "Gunfight at the O.K. Corral".
Another version of countless Holliday/Earps vs. Clantons sagas. Macho men Douglas (as Holliday -- a knife throwing former dentist) and Lancaster dominate. Their charisma/magnetic stage presence carried the story. Good supporting cast, too: Dennis Hopper (who seemed to frequently get the crap kicked out of him in Westerns), DeForest Kelley, Jack Elam, Lee Van Cleef, Martin Milner, Earl Holliman, John Ireland (the second time he's been a thorn in Holliday's side -- here as Johnny Ringo, and eleven years earlier as Billy Clanton in John Ford's gem "My Darling Clementine").
Wyatt Earp: "All gunfighters are lonely. They live in fear. They die without a dime, a woman or a friend."
