Vampire Queen Betsy Taylor returns in the ninth novel in the New York Times bestselling series.

Vampire Queen Betsy Taylor is having a tough time getting through the Book of the Dead -until the Devil strikes a bargain. She offers Betsy a chance to finish the cursed (literally!) thing, and finally discover all its mysteries. There's just one catch...

Betsy and her half-sister Laura have to go to Hell long enough for Laura to embrace her dark heritage (after a rebellious youth of charity work) and finally make nice with her mother, aka Lucifer. That means interacting with their family's past. In doing so, they're impacting the future in ways they never anticipated. Of course that's what Mother wanted all along. Damn her.

Ok I'll jump to the end of the book first. I agree ewww and it ruined some of the romance of the past series...but I think MJD was going for romantic, now we know why the book never leaves her, keeps finding it's way back to her, maybe why she goes insane reading it because her soul feels his, too far? I think this is just one of those books that has to be read to get us up to speed with Sinclair and Tina, MJD has 7 major characters (Betsy, Sinclair, Jessica, Laura, Marc, Tina & Nick) and the stories haven't been long enough to teach us much of anything in character development. Not my favourite book, loved learning more about Sinclair and Tina...definitely worth the read, (maybe stop one chapter short).

Well this book was really cool!
Time travel and everything.
Though at the very end...ewwwww that creeped me out!

This book "jumps the shark" so to speak. Time travel, less romance & more science fiction & the ending is horrible. Also, this book was left with a major cliff hanger so if I was going to read this book by choice, then I should've waited until the next book was available first.

The book was going very good till I hit the end and it was just horrible.
It totally freaked me out! I wouldn't even recommend reading this book. It ruins the series.

The Betsy Taylor novels are great.. though this one had quite a different ending than what I would have expected (and maybe even liked). Not sure whether this is the last in this series...

I love this series. This one is good but found it very difficult to digest at the end. I just hope more gets explained in future books.

OMG! This is the mother of all tell all!! The things we learn in this book.... left me scratching my head at times and had my jaw dropping to the floor.
The glimpse into the future left me wondering ... where will this series actually take us but more importantly... will it end the way this version of the future predicts?

What was this??? It felt unfinished, almost like the author needed to push out a manuscript in a hurry. It held some promise, but it is far from being one of the better ones in the series.

I really like the Betsy character and I like reading about her adventures as queen of the vampires. This features a lot more about her Antichrist sister.

The only thing I can't stand is the time travel element. It tells us more about Sinclair though. Still I find time travel as irritating as when a character wakes up - so therefore the entire thing was a dream! (Or in some cases they just found out they've been dead all this time and we've just seen their memories or something)
