Simply wonderful -- what a treat.

Told from several points of view, which is done with clarity. There are so many surprises in this novel, it was difficult to put down.

Of note are several great alternative music references.

Also, there was a neat passage describing In N Out which made me feel nostalgic.

I liked this story - especially the character Mona. Her sense of humor and compassion for her daughter made it an enjoyable read.

This Must Be The Place
Kate Raccullia

This is Raccullia first novel. It is about the secret left behind by a woman after her death in an accident and the grief of her husband, the widower Arthur Rook. After finding a 16 year old postcard his wife had never mailed, he starts his journey that will take him from California to a small town New York, in search of understanding his wife's past. The address is a boardinhouse owned by Mona Jones, her old time best girlfriend and her daughter Oneida. The search turns into a nightmare of sorts, bringing lots of new surprises not only to Arthur, but also to Mona and her daughter, who is dealing with her own issues.
The final chapters are the best revealing the long awaited disclosure.
