The movie The Greatest has themes similar to the excellent book and movie Ordinary People (family members dealing with the loss of a loved one). This movie was well done with a good cast and great performances portraying how people deal with grief as well as joy.

I enjoyed this movie. A sad true to life situation that a lot of people can relate to.

This film would make alot of sense to anyone who has lost someone close to them....Our western culture has a difficult time dealing with death and the poor reviews show that. The acting and interaction between the characters is very realistic. susan saradon's character is not very likeable, but the complexity of the character makes a very interesting role that few actors could pull off--but I believe she does it very well.

good drama revealing that each person who suffers a loss has their own way of grieving - and often resent the way others around them are behaving.

Don't let this film's strong cast get your hopes up. Its brainless script & improbable characters ensure they go nowhere. Susan Sarandon is growing tiresome in what has recently become her stock role as somebody's jilted wife.
