Denton Little's "normal life" is anything but normal! From knowing when he will die, to a crazy romantic life for a highschool senior, the adventure does not end. I was not sure I would like a "teen book" but this was a great read and a lot of fun. I am looking forward to reading the sequel as soon as my hold arrives!

Denton lives in a world where death dates are the norm. Most people know when they are going to die. For Denton, his death day is the night of prom. This is all he knows; he doesn't know how. What's the splotch on his leg?

Nominated for a Rosie Award, this title is sure to keep you on the edge of your seat. It's a laugh-out-loud adventure.

But you don't have to take my word for it:

This book was a hoot. It was very funny. The subject was fascinating. What if everyone knew the day they would die? How would that affect how you would live? The teen angst seemed both very believable and very funny at the same time. I found myself really rooting for Denton as he raced against the clock. It was a great premise, the characters were appealing and it was a fast, suspenseful read. I liked the bits of dark, macabre humour. I think this book would make a great movie. It felt fresh and different and I would highly recommend it.

A hilariously vivacious account of death. Denton Little, the protagonist, lives in a world where almost everyone knows the day they will die. Instead of facing death with an sad or angry demeanor, Denton chooses to face death as if it were an old friend (or an old frenemy). He faces really strange situations such as "accidentally" sleeping with his brother's sister, becoming all purple, and being hunted by his girlfriend ex's grandpa. This book is hilarious and will make you literally laugh out loud.

Great horror book

I really enjoyed this book and I read it really quickly. The writing is great, really realistic (lots of swears, but in a funny way). A very funny, at times laugh out loud, book about 17 year old Denton who lives in a time when people know their death date, and his is two days away. We follow him through his funeral where he must give a speech, and his Sitting, as he waits to die. Denton is a typical gross teenage boy who goes from being a virgin to cheating on his girlfriend and then sleeping with her in the two days he has to live. It’s a funny book, but I found the ending disappointing and there will be another book in this series, which may be a stretch. Things get a little weird with government conspiracies, but somehow Rubin walks the fine line between cheesy and cool. Loved the book, rolled my eyes at Denton.
