The Sword Presented by Louis XVI to John Paul JonesWebsite or Online Data - 1907
This short work details the history of the ceremonial sword presented to John Paul Jones by King Louis XVI of France. It was presented in the summer of 1780, less than a year after Jones' valiant service aboard Bonhomme Richard when, with a heavily damaged vessel, Jones was still able to win the battle over British Captain Pearson in his Serapis. Beautiful images of the artifact accompany the text.
