It was great to see an actual boxing movie instead of all these MMA stupidity.Boxing was a great sport and unfortunately it has been put in the shadows by the MMA. I would suggest that people watch Ali with Will Smith, not only about boxing but the corruption involved and his life amazing movie!

Decent movie about a boxer going through it.

We really enjoyed this movie one of the better boxing flicks I have seen in a long time.

This was a mistake, I don't like boxing. Watched only a few minutes, too bloody!

I find boxing to be a brutal and ugly sport but it usually makes for a pretty good movie.

This movie was an inspiring tale of a boxer who once had it all, and eventually loses everything. After his wife dies, Billy Hope, the holder of the Light Heavyweight title, sees his life fall apart and experiences an all-time low. With the death of his daughter and the seizure of his property, Hope decides to train with Tick Wills, a boxing trainer. As time passes, Hope’s character develops an incredible amount. He seems to be a lot more mature than he used to be after his training with Wills. In the final boxing match of the movie, tension is very high and the viewer is left on edge. Overall, this movie is great and is fairly inspiring. 4/5 Stars

As soon as Rachel McAdams exited stage left early in the film, I fast forwarded through the rest and understood the movie perfectly fine. Then I put in The Notebook and cried like a baby.

This move was okay-probably very good if you are a boxing fan (I am not). Jake G, Forrest W. were excellent. Film direction was astounding.

I enjoyed the movie. It was an interesting story and Jake Gyellenhaal did an amazing job. it wasn't really what I expected, I was expecting a more "Rocky" sort of movie, but this wasn't really like that. This movie is more raw and intense with it's storyline (death, custody, drugs, poverty...)

Meh. Another Cramer vs Cramer, Rocky genre movie. Worth watching once.

Tick Wills: We start tomorrow.

Billy Hope: What, like training?

Tick Wills: No, baking cookies.

Tick: You can do this. You're stronger than that. They say Billy Hope can't make it. They say Billy Hope is over. You! You define yourself. (voice-over): I want you to switch and go southpaw. Have the foot move through with you. It's connected by a string. Same time that leg's moving with that hand. See how it's coming at the same time? You switch, then the right foot has to land with a hook. ....
JONES JR.: What an unbelievable left uppercut from the southpaw position.
Tick: We start tomorrow.
Billy: What, like training?
Tick: No, baking cookies.
