When seven-year-old Elijah witnesses his mother's murder, he runs for safety in a neighbour's house where he stumbles across a deck of Tarot cards - accidentally freeing Lenna, the ancient essence of strength, and creating a bridge between the spirit worlds. As a Hunter for magical beings, it's Caine's job to eliminate Lenna or return her to where she came from - to fail would mean the complete destruction of her world. Caine can't deny his growing feelings for the feisty woman, but none of it matters if the clock runs out. If she refuses his assistance - he'll have no choice but to kill her. Print run 5,000.

I was so disappointed in this book! Usually Linda Howard keeps me reading all night long, I couldn't even get into this book, I just quit after a couple of chapters.

I didn't find the book at all as slow as the other comments but it did have its draggy moments liked the story as a whole though Linda Howard has never failed to entertain but I have never read any of the other ladies books

I usually enjoy both of these authors, but this book didn't even read like their other books. It was slow and monotonous. I had to force myself to get through it. I liked the ending but the rest of the book stunk. I hope these authors get their act together for the next book.

This book is a real zero star, but then it would look as though I didn't rate. Really awful book! Boring characters, stupid story line and dumb ending. I never would have checked this out if I had known Linda Jones has "contributed" - you can tell she wrote the book and her good friend Howard added her name to sell copies. Never read a book by Linda Howard with a Linda Jones collaboration.
