Silver compote dish manufactured in Rhode Island, U.S.A., in circa 1892.    10"h  x 10-1/4"diameter top x 6"diameter baseThe pedestal is decorated with open work silver including lions' heads on either side and an engraved band  around the bulbous part of the pedestal. The flared bowl with a deep center is engraved with Magoun on the underside.Formerly owned by the wealthy shipbuilding Magoun family of Medford, MA.  Collection of the Medford Public Library.
