Mary Moser Ernst graduated from Maryville College with a degree in art in 1948. She received a Master of Fine Arts degree from Washington University in 1982.Mrs. Ernst was invited back to Maryville in the fall of 1994 to show her work in an exhibit entitled "Metal Forms." The exhibit was held from October 26 - November 25, 1994, in the May Art Gallery.Mrs. Ernst works almost exclusively with copper, silver, and brass. She uses a process called "raising" to stretch and compress the metal to form a bowl shape.At the opening of her gallery exhibit in 1994, Mrs. Ernst discussed her work with Alumni Board president Julie Johnson Stein.The photograph appeared in the Winter 1994 edition of Maryville Magazine.
