Portrait of Peter Rutledge Davis.Peter Rutledge Davis (1942-) was born in Wilmington, NC. He was educated in New Hanover County public schools and graduated from North Carolina State University. Since 1971, he has been a self-employed builder and is the owner of Rental Tool Company and Parts & Engines, Inc. Davis was elected to the Board of County Commissioners in 1972, and during his tenure, he advocated for a new public library facility and an addition to the New Hanover County Courthouse.
