Russell Means was arraigned on nine charges, and then released with a $25,000 bond and third party custody. Means stated that the results showed the bias of the court system. It is possible Means will try to invoke the Treaty of 1868, which gave the Sioux all lands west of the Mississippi River in South Dakota, as a defense.
