Plaque: "Lydia Maria Child, 1802-1880."Child is in 3/4 seated portrait from just above the knee facing right. She is wearing a red dress with an open book in her lap held with her left hand with a parlor as the background.Child was a Medford resident who wrote "Over the River, and Through the Wood to Grandfather's House" and was an abolitionist.
