Death of Genghis Khan

Death of Genghis Khan

Book - 1410?
Rate this:
This medieval European painting shows the death of Genghis Khan as told in The Travels of Marco Polo. It is unknown exactly how the Khan died, but some believe, as did Marco Polo, that he was shot with an arrow and died later of an infection. Others believe that he simply became ill or was killed during a hunt. All that is known for certain is that the Khan died while on campaign in Western Xia in August of 1227.
