Charles I

Book - 1848
Rate this:
King Charles I was overthrown by a Puritan rebellion during William Penn's youth. Oliver Cromwell took over until the English Civil War started in 1642. William Penn's father fought in the Civil War. Penn grew up in a glaringly political world, so it is hardly surprising that Penn became such a political figure himself.
