Al Jolson

Book - 1916
Rate this:
Al Jolson got his start in vaudeville by partnering with his brother, Harry, in 1904. The two split following an argument in 1905, and Jolson performed as a solo act from 1906 onward. His melodramatic style of performance endeared him to audiences, and he became one of the most prolific singers of the early twentieth century, eventually being dubbed "The World's Greatest Entertainer" by the 1930s.
