With A Description of the SceneryBook - 1835
William Wordsworth, famous Romantic poet and Lakeland resident, originally wrote his own guide to the Lakes, published in 1810, anonymously and largely for money. It was popular not only for its in-depth look at the region, but also for its prose, and was republished several times. The fifth edition shown here is the most notable.
