This is the French edition of Jean-Jacques Rousseau's Dictionary of Music. The book is an extended version of Rousseau's writings on music and includes his musical notations. Rousseau submitted this work as a form of musical typography, and while it was not accepted by the Academy of Arts and Sciences at the time, it is now widely respected as one of the earliest forms of music theory.
