A broadside from the Boston Gazette announcing an American victory on the soil of Upper Canada during the Battle of Lundy’s Lane on July 25, 1814—described here as a “long, desperate, and most sanguinary engagement." The battle is still regarded as the bloodiest battle of the War of 1812. Almost 2,000 troops on both sides were killed or wounded that day.
