This late Renaissance painting depicts a scene from the birth narrative of Matthew's gospel. The wise men from the east present Mary and the infant Jesus with gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh. Joseph (in red), a host of angels and a crowd of people look on. The painting is held by the National Gallery in London.
