This statue of General Montgomery stands in Fairmount Park, Philadelphia. Montgomery was responsible for one-half of a failed attempt to take the City of Quebec for the Continental Army on December 31, 1775. Though Benedict Arnold, the other Continental commander, was able to get inside the walls, Montgomery and many of his men perished at their base.
