This beautiful photograph is a portrait of four African American Women seated on the steps of a building at Atlanta University, circa 1900. The photograph, taken by Georgia photographer Thomas E. Askew, (1850-1914), was part of Du Bois's personal collection of photographs of African Americans exhibited at the Paris Exposition.
