Her 1st few books, were page turners. This 1 was totally predictable.

Not very original. This plot has been done numerous times, but it was an entertaining read.

Absolute fluff! And not the good kind of fluff like cotton candy, clouds, or new fallen snow. No. This is the too-soft pillow that doesn't support your head. This is the airy supermarket cake with no substance or flavour. This is the abdominal fat of books.

Poorly written. Terrible plot. No character development. The only thing that actually impressed me is that it must take a certain amount of skill to write an adult-themed book that any second grader could read. The story was spelled out so entirely that I think I could have gotten it even had I read it while asleep. Complete and utter drivel!

I hated "The Couple Next Door" so I have only myself to blame for reading this one. "A Stranger in the House" presents the best argument for never giving second chances to anyone. You have ruined me, Shari Lapena.

This book had a good story and the premise was good but it moved way too slow!!

This is the third book I gave read written by this author and it is the best one yet. I had no idea right to the end how the story would finish.

This book was fantastic...i couldnt put it down! First i liked the main character, then i didnt then i did again...you flip flop between the two while you learn more about the characters..loved this book...you will not be able to put it down in one sitting!

"A stranger in the house," is definitely a one-sitting book. Having said that, I must confess it didn't do it for me. The story was quite predictable till the end; and the ending was rather far-fetched. I would call the book OK.

Nothing very original here, I'm afraid.

Lapena's uncomplicated and straight forward manner of writing pulled me into the story from the first page and it was easy to complete the book in a couple of sittings. However, as much as I really enjoyed her debut novel, this one felt a bit more predictable and less satisfying.

A cast of characters that are predictable. The ending is about the same.
