In a colorful yet gritty 1970s Boston, Justine, a mysterious American businesswoman, and her wise-cracking associate Ord, arrange a black-market weapons deal in a deserted warehouse between IRA arms buyer Chris and shifty South African gun runner Vernon. What starts as a polite if uneasy exchange soon goes south when tensions escalate and shots are fired, quickly leading to a full-on Battle Royale where it's every man (and woman) for themselves.

WOW! WHAT A TURD! WHAT WAS THE POINT?

Good acting all wasted in a very thin plot. The movie goes nowhere. Literally. 99% of the movie are the shootings in the warehouse. How can they make a movie like this and expect people to enjoy it? A real time waster. Skip this one.

Perhaps one of the stupidest movies I have ever seen. Super low budget production takes place in a warehouse where an arms deal was supposed to occur. During the course of a script of idiotic dialogue and a fist fight, a 30 minute gun battle breaks out and everyone gets shot. Don't waste your time.

This crime and thriller film stars Brie Larson, Armie Hammer, Cillian Murphy, Sharlto Copley, and many more in this somewhat outrageous film. After an illegal and underground arms deal goes wrong, Justine finds herself stuck in the middle and literally avoiding cross fire. The movie is without a doubt violent, and also has some attempts at witty comedy throughout the film. I found myself somewhat frustrated while watching it because the performances of the actors definitely brought the movie to life while the writing and directing brought everything down. I would rate this movie 3/5 stars and recommend it to those who like dramatic and action-packed films. @The_Reviewer of the Hamilton Public Library Teen Review Board

I'm surprised at the good ratings given by others. I thought it was a dull and plodding spectacle.

You will have a hard time getting John Denver out of your head after this movie. I don’t know what to think of this dark comedy. It is memorable and the acting is solid, but what was the point, I guess there wasn’t any.

I'm not sure how this movie has been so overlooked; it's a screenwriter's dream. Full of fast-paced action, witty dialogue, memorable characters, and sparse set locations, this film really makes the most of its tight budget and its actors. if you like movies like Reservoir Dogs and Layer Cake, you'll get a real kick out of Free Fire (2017).

Amateurish, unfocused, uninteresting, gave up after 10 minutes ...

Absolutely loved this movie. Director, writer and editor Ben Wheatley does a great job here. I had trouble getting my partner to watch this once I told it her almost all of it is taken up by a gun fight in a warehouse, but she watched it and enjoyed this often incredibly funny film as much as me. I suppose in a way it's Wheatly's `Gunfight at the OK Corral' but with the gunfight being almost the whole film (instead of the climax, as in the John Sturges pic) and with no real good guys.

This was a stylish and interesting movie of a gun deal gone wrong. Executive producer was Martin Scorsese which may have helped make this film as compelling as it was.
The acting was of some fine quality with worthy talents of Brie Larson (Room - 2015; Kong: Skull Island - 2017; and Captain Marvel - currently filming), Cillian Murphy (Transcendence - 2014; The Dark Knight Rises - 2012; Inception - 2010), and Shartlo Copley (District 9 - 2009; Elysium - 2013; Maleficent - 2014; Chappie - 2015).
Lots of shooting involved, but more out of self survival and greed, rather than just for the sake of shooting. The Eleven minutes bonus at the end of the DVD, was worth the watch, as it has some interviews by the director and key players.
