I agree with many reviewers that this sequel isn't as good as the Goosebumps movie from 2015 starring Jack Black, but this movie is still OK. The movie tries to find the right amount of spookiness for children and balance the spookiness with lots of humour and it mostly succeeds. This one isn't as dark and spooky as the first one, and often seems a lot sillier. It was entertaining and the special effects were often well done. This one is clearly aimed at children, so none of the scares are very intense. It's not particularly groundbreaking or anything, but overall it was quite fun and enjoyable and it hits the right tone and mood for its intended audience.
Great Halloween movie.
It has a PG rating but may still be intense for younger viewers.
If you have a fear of ventriloquist dummies this may be too much for you.
it was good but the 1st one was better.
Big surprise for my kids and I. Granted, the storyline wasn't as solid as the first "Goosebumps" movie, but it was funnier, much scarier, and the monsters were wonderfully creative. Fans of "Gremlins," "Small Soldiers," and everything Joe Dante will have a blast here. Long live Slappy!
i saw the movie friday night at he dollar show in st charles,mo. my take on the goosebumps movie well i thought it was awesome. the special effects was terrific and ken jeong was in the movie as well. he's one funny person, think. i would give it 2 thumbs up myself!
