Definitely for kids. Jim Carrey makes for a great villain, his physical comedy balances out a standard plot.

Sonic the Hedgehog, in a word, is utterly awesome. The plot, the characters, and everything about the movie is great. But this is something I didn't get: Who is Tom and Maddie Wachowski, and Agent Stone? And I don't mean that literally. We never heard of these characters ever in Sonic's History...until now. But the fact that I never knew these people have no outcome on to how good the movie is. After the utterly horrendous design for Sonic, and the backlash proceeded by the critics and movie fans, Sega made a quick turnaround, and made a much better design for the Blue Blur. And I must say that the acting for this movie was also great, having Jim Carrey as Dr. Robotnik and Ben Schwartz as Sonic. To sum it up, this movie is the videogame based movie to end all videogame based movies. Me and my brothers are anxiously awaiting the sequel, after the news of it coming out next year in April. The ending sequence also gives leaves a touch of nostalgia for the diehard Sonic fans. I reccomend this a must watch.

I like Jim Carrey's character in this one!

It was cute and funny even though I knew nothing of the videogame. Could have done better with the CGI sonic, but it was an interesting adventure. Jim Carrey was his usual over the top self as the villain.

The extremely little gameplay i might have did with the initial video game this celluloid is based on,is infinitely superior to this deeply appalling and abysmal film.Metaphorical racist commentary, bullying, bar brawling, ratchet and feminist females, malicious swirling, and everything else that's clearly a Leftist thing,is the order of the day here. This is also a shameless ripoff of "The Flash" tv series on the CW Network scientifically and socially too. This is most definitely one of the worst films of all time, period.

I am not familiar with the video game, but this movie was
enjoyable, and exceeded my low expectations just looking
at the dvd cover art. I wish I had the chance to have
seen it in the theatre, kids and adults of all ages should
enjoy it, I think.

This was so much better than I expected! I was rather unimpressed by the trailers, especially because the CGI looked vastly inferior to Pokemon Detective Pikachu (and it kinda was), but the acting really anchored this movie. James Marsden was amazing, and Ben Schwartz struck a perfect balance between comedy and emotional moments. I'm really not a Jim Carrey fan AT ALL, like normally I'm super irritated by him in every movie, but he NAILED this role. It was spot on, and completely believable. Hands down my favorite performance of his. Oh, and I had pretty much zero knowledge of Sonic the Hedgehog and still really enjoyed it! Definitely check this one out.
