Bittersweet, this book reveals the lives of a group of famous people that lived together in fairly good company to become some of the best minds in America. Intimate and unswerving portrayals bring their personal and professional triumphs and defeats to life. Their own foibles may have conspired against them but they were never beaten, their words and thoughts living long into the future. Truly a thought provoking work in an extraordinary time period.
