I went into this book knowing very little, to nothing, and I’m glad it was like that. This book is so unique, that I feel that it is best explained by its creator. Even the side characters had interesting back stories. Though this book is primarily enjoyed by young audiences, it is suited for adults as well.
The book was written in a way that is easy to understand and follow along, while also keeping readers hooked with the plot. Collins’ descriptions of the setting really transported me to this world while I read. Despite the greatness of the book, I wish there would have been more symbolism. As an avid dystopian reader, I feel that it was missing that sense of having big themes that we learn about our world from dystopian novels.
