The penultimate story in the Baudelaires woeful journey is just as miserable as the rest. Yet you still feel the need to pick up the book and read the terrible tale within? I don’t understand why you refuse to read happier books, but I suppose you’re here. The Baudelaires are conscripted as concierges and flaneurs, yet their observations prove to be just as confusing as the rest of their lives. As they struggle to figure out the villains from the volunteers, there are many more questions that come up. Why are so many of their former guardians at the hotel? Who is J.S. And which side is he/she on? And are the Baudelaires noble people or are they just as villainous as Count Olaf? With twists and turns and mysterious events, this book asks many questions and even answers some. As woeful as this story is, there is much intrigue amongst its pages. But what will the Baudelaires do when they are in the same boat as Count Olaf? Alas, you must read the final book, but though the end is near, it is just as depressing as the rest of the story.
