I am one of the few comic book nerds that missed Wonder Woman while it was in theaters, so I was beyond excited when it finally was available for rental at my local library. The film follows a traditional superhero origin story, but breathes new life into the genre with its impeccable casting, jaw dropping action sequences, intriguing story, and one of the best musical themes for a character that I've heard in ages. I laughed, I cheered, I may have even teared up a bit at the end. Although the bulk of the DC Cinematic Universe has been so-so, Wonder Woman proves that there still may be some heart left within the franchise. Gal Gadot is the perfect choice to play the titular hero, and she brings so much warmth, empathy, and strength to the character. My favorite scene-stealer would have to be Etta Candy, played by Lucy Davis, who had me rolling with laughter every time she took the stage - despite her limited screen time. Even if you don't like comic book adaptations, you have to give Wonder Woman a chance. I promise you won't be disappointed.
